Common Terms in an Ancestral Practice

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit with not only me but to collective community of other souls that are looking to connect with you and your ancestors. Something that I hope that you are able to feel throughout the blog, website is the feeling of embraced wholeness and support from the souls that you share not just an emotional connection but also a biological connection.

Over the last year, I have been creating elements of an Ancestral Tarot based course. Life likes to change and plans like to change and while we are still building this program, I wanted to go ahead and offer it’s bones for free to my community. So as we are able we will be introducing new concepts, projects, workings and the like for you to try and experiment with.

This week, we are going to take some time to catalogue what we know. Lets start with a common layer of terms.

LANGUAGE WE WILL USE IN THIS blog/course

WHEN IT COMES TO ANCESTORS- MANY PEOPLE USE DIFFERENT LANGUAGE TO MEAN THE SAME THING. HERE LETS GET CLEAR ON OUR TERMS SO THAT THERE IS NO CONFUSION AS TO OUR MEANING:


SPIRIT TEAM

The collection of souls that you converse with or work with daily who are invested in your wellness and you growth as a soul.

This Can Include:

  • Spirit Guide

  • Primary Ancestors

  • Deceased and honored dead and other loved ones


BIOLOGICAL ANCESTORS

These are the Ancestors that you carry a direct genetic line to. This will include:

  • Primary Ancestors

    • Parents

    • Grand Parents

    • Second Grand Parents

    • Great Great Great Grand Parents- and so on…


  • Secondary Ancestors

    • Aunts/ Uncles

    • Cousins 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc..

    • Great Aunts and Uncles


  • Other Ancestors

    • Step Parents that did not produce Children

    • Family Friends

    • The Family of People Married Into your family

    • Any other people who do no share a genetic link




THE COURT:

The Primary Ancestors that you have a relationships with- this can change over time.



THE RELATIONS:

The realitives that you were connected to or would have like to have been more connected to.



THE LOVED ONES:

These relatives really hold your heart and you would like to maintain or improve your relationship with them and get to know them better in thier new role as working members of your Spirit Team.



THE ADMIRED:

Celebrities, Important People in your life that may not have actually known you in person

  • Robin Williams, Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth II



THE MIGHTY:

Consider if this is needed for your practice

  • Deities, Spirit Guides

  • Anubis, Joset, Kali, Pele
